There are two parallel cracks on each side of the base of the dorsal-mounted COM antenna located between the cabin and the vertical stabilizer.
The cracks have been determined by an A&P to have been repaired with a large patch on the underside of the antenna (see Figure 8, inset) years ago in accordance with FAA circular 43.13-1B Acceptable Methods, Techniques, and Practices: Aircraft Repair.
The former owner of the aircraft reports that both cracks were pre-existing on the aircraft when he bought the aircraft in 1988, and remain the same today as when they were first repaired.
